| Sedona
Established in 1902, and incorporated in 1988, Sedona is a vibrant community located 100 miles north of Phoenix, at 4500 feet elevation. It is a popular tourist destination, in close proximity to the Four Corners area of the southwest and the magnificent Grand Canyon (2.5 hours). With a temperate climate and four distinct seasons, Sedona’s weather makes hiking, biking, tennis and golf year round activities.

The Greater Sedona area, with a population of approx. 17,0000, includes West Sedona, Uptown, the Village of Oak Creek, the Red Rock Loop area and Oak Creek Canyon. Sedona and the surrounding lands are rich in geologic and archeological history. Because of the abundance of national forest lands and the limited private land available, the population will peak within the next ten years. Natural growth control!
For a relatively rural area, there is an abundance of cultural activities available year round including theatre, large and small music concerts, art and film festivals and gallery openings. There is a local community college, digital and media arts center, and Northern Arizona University nearby in Flagstaff. Many spiritual and religious denominations have active memberships and provide additional opportunities to become part of the community.
Whatever your hobby or interest, from quilt making to archeology, Sedona provides a wealth of special interest clubs and volunteer opportunities. A haven for artists, the self-employed, retirees, young families and visitors alike, Sedona is an exciting and safe place to live.
